3 THINGS TO KNOW

WHAT’S HAPPENING?

Park Avenue BBQ Grille plans on closing it’s U.S. 1 location in Tequesta in about two months when a new PA opens on Indiantown Road in Jupiter West Plaza, just east of I-95 in Jupiter. Difficult parking and access are reasons for the closing, said PA BBQ Grille owner Dean Lavalee.

WHAT’S NEXT?

The Tequesta building is for sale for $1.2 million. The 35 Tequesta employees will work at other PA stores. If the restaurant is not sold, Lavalee said it would be reopened “but not related to Park Avenue.”

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU

Lavalee started PA BBQ in 1988 in Lake Park and now has about about 300 employees. Lavalee is spending about $350,000 remodeling the new Jupiter restaurant, which will have outdoor seating. A PA BBQ in Jupiter Farms closed in 2009.
