United Technologies’ plan for a building to showcase its equipment in Palm Beach Gardens is up for city officials’ review and could have final approval by October.
Carrier Corporation, a subsidiary of United Technologies Building & Industrial Systems, submitted an application for the six-story Center for Intelligent Buildings in July. If approved, it will be on the Briger tract near Interstate 95 and Donald Ross Road. The project is scheduled for the planning, zoning and appeals board’s review 6 p.m. Sept. 15, Planning Director Natalie Crowley said. City Council is expected to give the final approval at the 7 p.m. Oct. 8 meeting.
The city, county and state together offered millions of dollars of economic incentives to solidify United Technologies’ choice of Palm Beach Gardens instead of other locations in the southeast.
