On-street parking spaces are being installed along A1A in Jupiter.
The spaces are part of the town’s $8 million project to spiff up the roadway from Jupiter Beach Road north to U.S. 1 through the town’s inlet village.
The above photo shows the red vehicle parked on an off-street space. The vehicle passing on the driver’s side is heading north.
That lane in the middle is a five foot-wide bicycle lane. Five-foot-wide bicycle lanes are being installed on both sides of A1A.
There were no bicycle lanes before the project started.
The work also includes new lighting, drainage and landscaping between U.S. 1 and Jupiter Beach Road.
Completion is planned this spring.
