The developer is a company led by Mark Emalfarb, who heads the local biotech firm Dyadic International. The town council will consider the development on Tuesday. The site lies just west of the Intracoastal Waterway, on the northeast corner of Indiantown Road and Fisherman’s Way.
Emalfarb has owned the 5.2 acre site for 25 years and has tried to build on it before, but the plans never went through, according to the South Florida Business Journal. He paid $3.4 million for the site in 1993.
Plans for Fisherman’s Wharf include three low-rise condo buildings with units ranging from about 3,900 square feet to 4,245 square feet. Prices would be market rate, according to the publication.
Amenities will include a clubhouse with a pool; a conservation preserve; 122 parking spaces, with 74 in an underground garage; and four new boat slips. Sotolongo Salman Henderson Architects is the designer.
The developer also wants to build an additional three-story building with four workforce housing units that span about 1,390 square feet, each. Residents of workforce units must earn no more than 140 percent of area’s median income. The building would also offer three live/work units would have a combined 900 square feet of workspace.
