Pulte Homes plans to build about 250 homes on a golf course just west of Boynton Beach in unincorporated Palm Beach County, one in a series of South Florida golf course redevelopments the home builder has pursued.
Atlanta-based Pulte would build homes at the 116-acre Cypress Creek Country Club at 9400 South Military Trail. Cypress Creek Country Club is a semi-private golf course open to members and the public.
Prices for Pulte’s one- and two-story homes would be in the upper $400,000s.
Pulte has a contract to buy the golf course from True Shot LLC, which ha planned to close the course when Pulte offered to buy it, according to Brent Baker, president of the Southeast Florida Division of Pulte.
Baker also told the Sun-Sentinel that Pulte may not buy the golf course for a year. Pulte has not yet submitted plans for the redevelopment of the course to Palm Beach County, which would have to approve the project.
Pulte has started the second phase of a residential redevelopment of a golf course in Hollywood, called Parkview at Hillcrest, and the company plans a similar redevelopment of the closed Oak Tree Golf Course in Oakland Park.
The home builder this year bought 44 acres of the Woodmont Country Club in Tamarac for $10.2 million and plans to build homes there, too. [Sun-Sentinel] – Mike Seemuth
