BBX Capital and Stiles Corp. won city approval in Palm Beach Gardens for their revised plan to build office space, hotel rooms and a parking garage along PGA Boulevard east of Interstate 95.
The Palm Beach Gardens City Council last week approved a revised mixed-use plan for the developer’s 30-acre site that included an additional 100,000 square feet of development.
By 2020, BBX and Stiles plan to build almost 200,000 square feet of office space in multiple buildings and a 111-room, suite-style hotel. Brock Development is a partner in the hotel project.
Also included in their development, called PGA Station, is space for retailers such as dry cleaners and sandwich shops.
The 30-acre development site on the south side of PGA Boulevard east of I-95 is now occupied by a furniture plaza called the PGA Professional and Design Center.
BBX and Stiles, both based in Fort Lauderdale, would leave space on the east side of the PGA Boulevard site for a Tri-Rail station if the South Florida commuter rail service extends its service northward. The planned parking garage could be expanded by 199 spaces if Tri-Rail establishes a station on the site.
