The day is almost here. The United Technologies’ Center for Intelligent Buildings that has been talked about for months is up for final approval at the Palm Beach Gardens City Council meeting 7 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, 10500 North Military Trail.

The company chose the city for its 265,000-square-foot, six-story showcase in early July. Officials have said the center on the Briger tract, near Interstate 95 and Donald Ross Road, will bring a $115 million capital investment and 380 new jobs. The plan calls for a four-story parking garage and bus parking.

UTC Building & Industrial Systems spokeswoman Ashley Barrie previously said construction is slated to start later this year for possible completion in 2016.

That’s not the only big item on the agenda. Officials are also expected to vote on approval for 353 apartments and 796 multifamily dwellings, known as Atlantico, on 13 acres in the part of the Alton development known as the Town Center. It is also part of the Briger tract.
