Central Florida developer plans rental development in Palm Beach Gardens

A developer based in Central Florida plans to acquire vacant land in Palm Beach Gardens for construction of a 263-unit apartment property. Winter Park-based P.A.C. Land Development Corp., led by Tom Cavanaugh, has a contract to buy the 11.68-acre vacant site in Palm Beach Gardens, the South Florida Business Journal reported. The developer’s planning firm, Cotleur & Hearing Landscape Company, filed an application for approval of the planned rental property development, called Latitude Apartments. RJS buys Carl’s Plaza near Palm Beach Gardens, plans renovations

Restaurants, retail shops, a fitness center and more is coming to the old Carl’s Plaza off Federeal Highway in Palm Beach Gardens. Bass Pro Shops just released a retail development site near Palm Beach Gardens. Property records show an affiliate of the outdoor sporting goods retailer just sold Carl’s Plaza at 11940 US Highway 1 for $7 million. The company originally intended to build one of its World Wide Sportsman stores on the 6-acre site, but plans fell through. Bass Pro Shops paid $5.5 million for the property in 2014, and won county commission approval shortly thereafter to build up to 70,600 square feet of retail on the site, as well as a covered area for boats. Mixed-use development to unfold around the Isle Casino in Pompano Beach

The Cordish Companies formed a joint venture with Eldorado Resorts Inc., owner of Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park, to build a mixed-use development around the casino and harness racing track in Pompano Beach. The 223-acre development would include an office campus, a hotel, residences, and space for retail stores and restaurants. Pompano Beach Mayor Lamar Fisher said in a prepared statement that city officials “look forward to working closely together with The Cordish Companies and Eldorado Resorts in creating a destination like no other.” Reno, Nevada-based Eldorado Resorts acquired the Pompano Beach property as part of its $1.7 billion purchase of Isle of Capri Casinos in 2017. Kolter pursues beach-area residential project in Fort Lauderdale

West Palm Beach-based Kolter Group plans a 312-unit residential development in the mid-section of Fort Lauderdale’s beachfront area. The 2.6-acre development site includes eight parcels between Alhambra Street and Sebastian Street that Kolter bought from the city last year for $25 million. Kolter is preparing to develop two residential buildings that would be 200 feet tall and would include 15,000 square feet of space for retail stores and restaurants. Fort Lauderdale’s Development Review Committee examined the proposed development on April 24. Kolter bought the eight parcels spanning 2.2 acres through an affiliated company called KT Seabreeze Atlantic. The property includes two parking lots and a small wooded area.
