Three-story self-storage building proposed for Jupiter’s Abacoa

A 91,000-square-foot, three story storage building on a vacant 2-acre parcel in Abacoa is too big and will lower property values, according to opponents to the plan scheduled for a preliminary vote at the Aug. 18 town council meeting. The potential developers counter approving the zoning change and project will protect the surrounding area from more intensive development. The current zoning allows for gas stations, fast-food restaurants and movie theaters.

The storage facility is among several other changes, including a mini-golf course, proposed and underway in Abacoa.
